Ask any kid what they want to be when they grow up, and you’ll get an array of potentially entertaining answers. Whether it’s a firefighter, the president, or Wonder Woman, there’s a common theme to almost every answer: they want to help people. All of us do. There’s an irreplicable desire to help other people and “change the world” in our own way.
Some people focus on raising their family right, and some people will literally make a lasting impact on entire countries. Whatever the case is for you, there is one thing that has to be done. One piece of advice you cannot go without if you want to change the world for the better.
You have to change your self.
If you can’t change you, you’ll never be able to change the world.
You have to BE about it, not just TALK about it. Talk gets people excited, but if that talk isn’t followed up by undeniable action, it’s worthless and leaves everyone disappointed.
Nobody takes health & fitness advice from an overweight slob, nobody takes financial advice from their broke uncle that always asks for money, and no one is going to want the kind of change you’re offering if they can’t see the results already modeled in you.
When you ARE everything you SAY you are, people look up to you. They get inspired. They see someone who has achieved something they want to achieve, and they start to mimic your actions. You’re the inspiration people are looking for. It’s up to you to become the inspiration that you never had.
Do it for the people behind you who don’t think someone like them can do it. Do it today, and do it for decades to come.
If you want to make a change in the world, model that change first. People will follow.
